Following last year’s success, we’re expanding this summer’s NewBassoon Institute to one week this summer! Join us for an intensive week devoted to contemporary bassoon solo and ensemble music. You’ll enjoy private lessons, masterclasses, seminars, faculty & fellow concerts, insights from guest artist/composer, Brad Balliett, and world premieres of new music for bassoon ensemble by Kamala Sankaram, Balliett, and others. If you love contemporary music, or are just curious about learning more, this is the place for you to explore and learn! Designed for bassoonists of college age, and beyond.

The Sulzbach-Rosenberg International Music Festival, produced by InterHarmony, has been held in the scenic Bavarian village of Sulzbach-Rosenberg for the past fourteen years. Open to bassoonists (and musicians) of all ages and levels, you’ll enjoy two weeks of intensive music-making in this historic town, complete with its own medieval castle. Participants take lessons and play in chamber music ensembles, masterclasses and orchestra. The festival enjoys the support of the community, with packed houses for its concerts. Summer 2019 marks my first time teaching with the InterHarmony faculty in Bavaria – join me to experience a wonderful couple of weeks in this magical place!
